Heal’s Solid Golden Oak Circular Occasional Table, circa 1930 .

A good quality English oak occasional table by Heal’s of Tottenham Court Road, London, dating from around 1930.

Made from solid golden oak, the table has a simple circular top with a nicely figured grain and a warm colour. The top is supported on four square section legs, joined by cross stretchers and set onto a distinctive cruciform base.

• The design is typical of Heal’s furniture from this period: simple, well proportioned and very well made, with the construction and grain of the oak providing most of the decoration.

The original circular Heal’s, Tottenham Court Road, London W.1 label remains to the underside.

The table is in very good condition with a good colour and finish, retaining some minor marks and signs of age consistent with its use.

A very useful size for use as a side table, occasional table or lamp table.
