Pair of Art Deco Chrome Candlesticks, in the Manner of Chase, c.1930

A striking pair of Art Deco chrome-plated candlesticks dating from the 1930s.

Each candlestick has a beautifully simple Machine Age design, with a sweeping curved arm rising from a polished sphere above a stepped circular base. The asymmetrical form is particularly effective when the pair are displayed together.

The design is strongly reminiscent of American chrome accessories produced by Chase during the 1930s, although these examples are unmarked and we therefore make no firm attribution.

A very decorative and sculptural pair of original Art Deco candlesticks, retaining a good period finish with only minor age-related wear.
