Art Deco Epstein Bird’s-Eye Maple & Walnut Dining Table, c.1930

A superb English Art Deco dining table by H & L Epstein, dating from circa 1930, veneered throughout in beautifully figured bird’s-eye maple with contrasting walnut detailing.

The large rectangular top has softly rounded ends and is edged in walnut, providing a strong contrast to the pale bird’s-eye maple. The table stands on two substantial pedestal supports, also veneered in bird’s-eye maple with walnut detailing and broad walnut plinth bases.

A particularly good quality and very usable example of Epstein’s Art Deco furniture, with excellent proportions and a strong architectural design.

Its generous proportions and clean lines also make it very suitable for use as a large desk or writing table.

The table has been fully and professionally restored in our own workshops and is in excellent condition.

The two pedestal bases can be removed from the table top, making the table considerably easier to transport and position within the home.
