A Fine quality English Art Deco two-tier occasional table dating from around 1930, veneered throughout in beautifully figured tiger maple.
The table has a simple, elegant design with a rectangular top and lower shelf, both fitted with glass panels. The tiger maple has particularly strong figuring, especially across the frieze, legs and edges, with a lovely golden colour throughout.
The shaped frieze and gently curved legs give the table a very typical Art Deco look, while the dark edging around the glass gives a nice contrast to the lighter maple.
The table has been fully restored in our workshop and is in excellent condition. The finish has brought out the figuring in the timber very well without making it look over-restored.
There are two very small chips to the underside corners of the top glass. These are barely noticeable when the glass is in place and do not affect its use.
A very attractive and useful Art Deco table that would work well as a side table, lamp table or occasional table.
