Hille J Nest

A rare and highly decorative Art Deco J Nest of three tables by Hille, dating from circa 1930.

The tables are veneered in bleached burr walnut and walnut, with beautifully figured circular tops protected by inset glass.

The two larger tables feature the distinctive sweeping J-shaped supports from which this model takes its name, rising from stepped rectangular bases. The smaller central table has a more compact architectural pedestal support, allowing all three tables to sit together as a striking sculptural group.

The bleached burr walnut tops have particularly attractive figuring, with the lighter tone contrasting beautifully against the darker walnut supports and bases.

A very unusual and highly collectible example of British Art Deco furniture, and one of Hille’s most distinctive nest-of-tables designs.
