Sabino Globe light 

An original 1930s French Art Deco frosted glass pendant light by the legendary glassmaker Marius-Ernest Sabino, featuring the beautifully documented "Les Volutes" pattern. Often affectionately referred to by art glass collectors as the "Bulles et Nuages" (Bubbles and Clouds) design, this fixture features a heavy, geometric high-relief of stylized swirling clouds and circular spheres. When illuminated, the contrast between the textured satin-frosted background and the smooth, hand-polished relief lines gives off a fantastic, deeply diffused ambient glow.

This iconic design is highly collectible and well-documented within the Sabino lighting archives. While this specific glass globe is unsigned—which was standard practice for globes destined directly for multi-part commercial metal frames and fixtures—the pattern, 28cm scale, glass weight, and execution correspond exactly to the original factory catalogue model. A copy of the historical catalogue reference can be provided upon request.

The light comes beautifully paired with its original period silver-plated gallery and ceiling hook, both showcasing a gorgeous, authentic age-related patina. For immediate, worry-free installation, the fixture has been fully rewired with premium, fresh braided twist flex and is PAT tested, ready to hang.

Offered in good vintage condition overall. The main body of the frosted glass globe is structurally sound, clear, and in great shape with no cracks or visible surface damage.

As is typical with genuine period lighting, there are historic flea bites and small chips located strictly around the upper fitter rim, caused over the decades by the tension of the gallery screws. To ensure the piece is stable and safe to handle, these have been carefully smoothed down with professional diamond paper. For future protection, small rubber guards have been added to the original gallery screws to shield the glass. These rim chips are completely concealed by the silver-plated gallery neck and are entirely invisible when the light is fully assembled and hanging.
