It runs on four Flexello sprung castors as specified on summers original design drawing.
Summers furniture is usually made from birch plywood ,at the beginning of world war II plywood was reserved for military use, his company did not carry a stock of ply so they used any suitable materials they could buy to manufacture their furniture . This trolley made is from solid Walnut and Oak which tells us it was made in 1939 at the beginning of WW11. Due to the lack of materials the firm closed in 1940.
The Walnut has been sympathetically restored.
